4th of July

We love 4th of July. You get to dress up, have bar b q's and there's always a parade.
Last year, we woke up and decided that we would go pick blueberries. It was such a hit that we decided to do it every year. However, I woke up feeling a little sick, so I broke my kids heart when I had to tell them that we wouldn't be going.
However, we did get up bright and early and go put out our chairs for the Canby Parade.
The parade is always fun. Canby is so small and everyone knows everyone so all the kids friends are there and it's fun to socialize with friends. But by this point I was feeling dizzy and I knew I had had a fever. But because I am a mom, I had a smile on my face, tried to act fine and when the parade was over, it was time to come home. The kids were not happy but they had a lot of fun watching all the cars and trucks (fire trucks) in the parade. They love getting the canby and being silly with their friends.
When we got home I layed down in bed and didn't get out until this morning. And in case you are wondering, I feel a lot better but not 100%.
Bryce is not a huge fan of fireworks, so he layed with me in bed last night, we watched a John Deere movie and saw the fireworks from my bedroom window at the school where the city lights them off. It was great, we got to see the fireworks but not hear them, Bryce was in heaven!!! Berkeley went to bed around 7 pm so she missed all the shows. But Sean and Belle made their way around the neighborhood watching everyone's fireworks and showing up empty handed for bar b q's but coming home full!
So, besides being sick, everyone had a great day.
Bryce was happy laying in bed with me and watching from the window and Belle being our social butterfly got to hang with her friends until 11 pm. What more could you ask for?
